Mac OS X- Just hunt for the exam references, videos and hands on. But the best way to learn Linux is hands on. Linux- There are some great Exam references and videos. The Microsoft Exam Ref leaves a lot to be desired but its all we have at the moment. I'm working on 70-697 and the videos are a great overview. I'll be leaving out what has been expressed here so farįor Microsoft the Microsoft Virtual Academy and you can find links to online labs there too. There are some great answers here! So I'll add my two cents worth and hope it helps you are someone else. Tried using it for note-taking, but its formatting is a chore and it isn t very compatible. I use Evernote as a central repo for commands, guides, forum posts and bits of usable information related to my job. I've tried a significant number of web-based note-taking programs and Google is still my daily driver.Ĥ. Provides a good platform for learning, testing, and projects.ģ.

Home Server with VMs: I am currently running a ThinkServer TS140 with Server 2012 R2 DC and a Ubuntu 14 LEMP server. as it's cheaper, content is just as engaging and presentation and accessibility is better.Ģ. CBT Nuggets: If you are cool with the price tag, CBT is awesome. Their core cert classes (Server 2012, Net+) are all really good, but not as engaging as Ĭ. I enjoy the raw and uncut presentations in more than the PowerPoint sessions in PluralSIght.
Content is solid, but presentation is very cookie cutter. PluralSight: I used pluralsight for several months, but the quality of their classes varied between teachers (their MySQL course was the last straw for me). Also provides a few virtual machine systems for sandboxing.ī. A little pricey, but you can score discounts all over the web, specifically on TWiT network podcasts. Awesome live shows, content library is getting bigger and better all the time.
Plus, they have a Roku app so I can post up on the couch, watch on my TV, take notes on my laptop. I really enjoy watching them and it makes it easier for me to learn. IT Pro.tv (personal favorite): engaging, interactive, and real-time classes.
